Resources For Online Marketers & Entrepreneurs
The Tools You Need To Succeed At Every Level

Welcome to my Resources section, a list of the tools and websites I strongly recommend for building and optimising your online business. I thought it would be helpful to create a resources page that you can always come back to for all of your online marketing requirements. I'll add to it as I discover more along the way...

I have tested every recommendation on this page.

Many of the resources listed here are crucial to running my business (or were crucial to developing my business to where it is today.)

Landing Page Software

Landing page software. Undeniably great. Simple to use. Effective. Say no more. The industry favourite for creating beautiful landing pages.

LeadPages is by far my favorite tool for creating high-quality landing pages quickly and easily. LeadPages helps you convert viewers into subscribers or buyers. Best of all, it works both with WordPress and non-WordPress sites.

I highly recommend using LeadPages for your first info product.

Email Software

The best email marketing automation platform, hands down. Drip is the most cost-effective way to use email marketing automation to grow your business. Join for free today, and see what Drip can do for you.

Web Hosting

Siteground Web Hosting

SiteGround – the host I recommend who was rated #1 in multiple Facebook polls and yields an average load time of 1.3s with lots of WordPress features and a free host migration. They’re the only host listed on all three WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal hosting pages, and most people who migrate to them see a significant improvement in their load time.

Sales Funnel Software

ClickFunnels is a click – based software, that you can use to easily create series of webpages that people have to navigate through in order to purchase a product, or join an email list, or a webinar, and you don’t need to know a single line of code. ClickFunnels can build the entire funnel for you in just a few clicks. Saves both time and money.

SamCart is one of the most powerful applications on the market for creating engaging, effective and conversion optimised checkout pages.

Because many checkout pages are designed for functionality rather than conversions, customers often drop out of the sales process at the checkout, resulting in an abandoned cart and a lost sale.

SamCart lets you make your checkout page both more intuitive and more visually appealing by giving you an incredible level of control over how your checkout page looks and performs for a customer.

Automation Tools

I’m a huge fan of making life easier and setting up systems to make running your business easier. Since I started my business, I have always used scheduling software to make sure I have regular content going out to my customers. Now that is not to say that I don’t engage with customers. There is no point pushing out content every day and then not engaging with those potential customers. So ‘live’ content and engagement is really important. SmarterQueue, lets you create libraries of different types of content and then create a schedule around those libraries to push out your content at specific times.

Video Marketing tools

ScreenFlow is a screencasting and video editing software for the OS X operating system. It can capture the audio and video from the computer, edit the captured video, add highlights or annotation, and output a number of different file types such as AIFF, GIF, M4V, MOV, and MP4.

Wistia is a video hosting and tracking company for businesses which enhances video marketing campaigns. Customers are given access to a platform which hosts their videos and keeps them all in one secure loaction. Wistia also provides detailed analytics for each video that is hosted on its software platform. If you’re a business with video needs, especially in need of keeping them secure, Wistia is a great option. It’s quick, powerful and simple.

Tube Buddy

TubeBuddy is powerful browser plugin that will save you time & money, boost video performance and help you engage with your audience. I’ve seen a lot of tools for YouTube creators, but TubeBuddy is the best I’ve seen!

Online Course Hosting

Teachable is an awesome platform for selling and hosting online courses. If you’ve enrolled in a course over the past few years, there’s a pretty good chance it’s set up using Teachable. It makes selling one super easy regardless of your tech know-how. Teachable lets you keep all aspects of a process in one place, only in this case, its courses. You host your sales page there. You accept payments/complete transactions there. You put your actual course content there. I use Teachable to sell all my digital products for

Online Design Tools

Canva makes design simple for everyone. Create designs for Web or print: blog graphics, presentations, Facebook covers, flyers, posters, invitations and much more. An excellent resource.

Create the most eye-exploding photo you’ve ever made, with the Pic Monkey online photo editor. Add text, effects, or overlays.

In our visual world, having striking images and photos are vital in engaging your audience. Here are the 7 sites that I use for finding those free images that create a great visual impression.

Automation Tools

Evernote is an app designed for note taking, organising, tasks lists, and archiving. The app allows users to create notes which can be a piece of formatted text, a webpage or webpage excerpt, a photograph, a voice memo, or a handwritten “ink” note. Notes can also have file attachments. – It’s an app for your smartphone, tablet, computer, and even your notebook… Never lose another post-it note, piece of paper, or notebook that has important information in it…

Media Human

You like to listen to music on YouTube or SoundCloud and want to save it for offline playing. Or you want to download the soundtrack of a new movie. Then I recommend you to try out this software developed specifically for this purpose. I use it every week.

Podcasting Tools

Libsyn is the number one podcast hosting service, they have a long standing reputation in the podcasting community and their rates are very affordable. Fully integrated tools provide a one-stop solution with flexible service level options.

My recorder of choice, and this is personal of course, but I’ve seen agreement from many, is the Zoom H5. The H5 Handy from Zoom is a compact, portable handheld digital recorder that is capable of four-track recording and features an interchangeable, modular microphone system. If your interviewee is loud and you’re quiet, that’ll show up heavily in the recording, and you’ll have to spend some production time levelling it out. In this situation, it’s far better to make sure your input is even during intial recording, capturing the best source quality right from the get-go. To do this means having at least two microphone inputs with separate level control.

Ecamm’s Call Recorder is a seamless addition to Skype that provides a number of configurations that help in recording of calls that are both in audio and video. Make it easy to record your next podcast interview over Skype.

Keyword Research Tools

HitTail (21 days free trial)

HitTail is a dream long tail keyword tool for website owners, bloggers and marketers who want to increase traffic from Google and other search engines. HitTail works around “not provided” by automatically importing your Google keywords on a daily or weekly basis, giving you full access to this critical marketing data.

If you’re like most of us, “not provided” keywords now account for most of your traffic, crippling your content marketing and SEO efforts. HitTail gets back this data. Pricing for HitTail starts at $9.95/month, but you will need at least 1500 unique visitors per month for it to work.

SEMRush (14 days free trial)

SEMRush is a well-balanced SEO optimisation platform with strong tooling across domain monitoring, keyword research, and crawling. SEMRush is one secret weapon that you need to beat your competition with keyword research. Using keywords, this premium service helps discover competitor’s keywords in search, by a competitor’s domain or by searching for competitors.

Google Keyword Planner (Free)

It is the most popular and free keyword research tool out there. Almost any blogger, newbie or seasoned in SEO can use Google keyword planner to find out related keywords along with their search quantity. Accessed by an AdWords account, it yields meaningful statistics including monthly searches, and average cost per click. For a given keyword, it suggests a large volume of useful synonyms and variations.

Writing Tools

The spell-check tool I go to always. Through my browser, anything I write automatically goes through their database of spelling and grammatical checks to make sure I write properly. Nothing worse than posting something littered with typos.

Scrivener is a powerful content-generation tool for writers that allows you to concentrate on composing and structuring long and difficult documents. While it gives you complete control of the formatting, its focus is on helping you get to the end of that awkward first draft.

Online Storage

Dropbox brings your files together, in one central place. They’re easy to find and safely synced across all your devices—so you can access them anytime, anywhere. This tool should be a given, but I’ll say it. When you’re working abroad, you need a virtual location to safely store documents while allowing everyone access that needs it. Dropbox is that solution.

Google Docs

is a free Web-based application in which documents and spreadsheets can be created, edited and stored online. Files can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection and a full-featured Web browser. Google Docs is compatible with most presentation software and word processor applications.

Web Resources

A hello bar is a great alternative to using a pop-up, an option that is unpopular with so many. Hello bars are less obtrusive, yet are constantly on display. This means you can present a specific message to your visitors, without distracting them from your regular content.

The main aim of a hello bar is to improve your websites conversion rates. Therefore, a hello bar should contain a clear message, prompting your audience to complete a particular action of your choosing. This could be to make a sale, opt into a service, enter their email address, or engage with you on social media.
